With just a few acres of this delightful grape planted in the U.S., our recently replanted estate vineyard produced some great Picpoul fruit this past Fall and it is already showing well in the bottle. Our little “lip stinger” is the perfect summer, by the pool wine. Lovely pineapple, lemon and jasmine flowers in a glass.

This crisp white offers bright acidity with lovely aroma of crisp apple and pear with lemon and a faint violet scent; lean yet refreshingly silky and fine textured. We offer one of the very few bottlings in the U.S. of this unique wine.

Vineyard Notes
We grow 1.3 acres of Picpoul Blanc in our Estate Vineyard and follow the Lodi Rules certification for sustainable winegrowing. Harvested in the Mokelumne River AVA of the Lodi Appellation, our grape clones are Tablas Creek cuttings from the famous French Château de Beaucastel Winery in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape region. Our climate is very similar to that of the Southern Rhône with cool nighttime breezes from the Mokelumne River nearby giving our grapes their ripe, fruity flavors with excellent balance.

Winemaker Notes
All of our grapes are hand-picked and immediately pressed as whole clusters to capture their fresh, flavorful character. The grapes were harvested in the early morning to keep acidity at its highest, providing the vibrancy in the wine. The juice is then cool fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks to highlight the pure fruit expressions.
Food Pairing Notes
Literally translating to “lip stinger” this high acid varietal is perfect with oysters, mussels, shellfish, Thai foods (it loves cilantro), tuna, ceviche and salads.

Acquiesce Winery is Lodi’s only dedicated white wine winery. We make premium, food-friendly, white wines and rosés from estate grown wine grapes. Our vines are lightly watered and thinned. The grapes are then handpicked and whole-cluster pressed to maintain their optimal fruit characteristics. We acquiesce to the grapes. . . and to nature.

Young fresh, with a nose that is all floral esters with hints of citrus this is a lovely wine. Of course it is tart, that the nature of Picpoul, but the tartness is refreshing because the weight and balance of the wine is there. Lovely wine, wonder how it will age... to be continued. 12.5% alc
